Camping Awards 2024 tent of the year
Anantara IV Air TC 650XL
What they said...
"Why the Vango Anantara IV Air TC 650XL?
It’s hard to believe it’s more than 13 years since Vango launched the AirBeam range of tents – the first mainstream inflatable family tent. Rivals initially dismissed it as a gimmick, but soon changed their tune when they realised how much campers loved the new technology.
In fact, it’s fair to say, inflatable tents have revolutionised family camping in the UK and, over the last decade or so, Vango has led the way with its technology. In 2024, the Scottish brand continues to innovate, with the its new Anantara IV Air TC 650XL, a six-man inflatable tent that is the absolute epitome of lavish camping.
This is perfect for families who need plenty of space on longer holidays and who want something that is simple to pitch but offers flexible living options.
The Anantara is now made with Sentinel Signature TC Fabric, which repels water and contains ColourLok to protect from UV rays.
As well as boasting the latest fabric technology, this is a luxury family tent packed with features and high-quality materials, that should help you enjoy years of memorable family camping holidays.

Camping Awards 2024 best festival tent
Classic Instant 300
What they said...
"Why the Vango Classic Instant 300?
If you asked someone to do you a quick sketch of a tent, they’d probably come up with something like this. This is a twenty-first century take on the classic A-frame ridge tent that we all recognise from the likes of Carry On Camping – and it’s even available in 1960s orange as well as in deep blue or a geodesic pattern.
The aptly named Classic Instant 300 is easy to use and it’s ideal as a beginners’ tent for weekends away. But where it really comes into its own is as a festival tent. It’s the perfect size for two campers and the new hub structure means it pops up in seconds and, crucially, folds down like an umbrella, so takes no time to pack away.
The darkened inner and ventilation are brilliant, too, for those ‘morning-after-the-night-before’ moments when the early sun is beating down on your tent.
And if the sun isn’t shining, the bathtub groundsheet extends 10cm above ground level to keep your tent dry in wet weather and the PowerFlex fibreglass poles should be strong enough to keep it standing in strong winds.

Camping Awards 2024 best lightweight sleeping mat
Thermocore XPD
What they said...
"Why the Vango Thermocore XPD?
For comfort and warmth at night on backpacking trips, the new Thermocore XPD is pretty hard to beat. Designed for all-year use, the Thermocore XPD has a unique vertical walled design to provide a larger sleeping area.
But its major USP is the use of what Vango calls Thermal Reverb technology, which, along with layers of strategically placed film, reflects heat back towards your body to keep you warm at night.
The top and bottom fabrics are made from recycled nylon with a TPU lamination that is lighter and more environmentally friendly than traditional PVC. The improved compressibility means you can have a smaller pack size without compromising on comfort.
Silent Sleep technology reduces the rustling noise when you move and the air-filled welded channel construction moulds to the contours of your body."
Camping Awards 2024 best camping light
Lightbeam 250 Recharge
What they said...
"Why the Vango Lightbeam 250 Recharge?
For quick overnight camping trips, a couple of torches and a battery-powered lantern will probably be enough to meet your lighting needs. But on longer family holidays, when you are likely to spend more time inside the tent after dark, you really need something a bit more substantial to illuminate your tent. This newcomer from Vango, the LightBeam 250 Recharge, is an inflatable striplight that is powerful enough to do just that.
It has a lightweight and flexible design and is fitted with two magnetic attachment points for easy set-up in your tent. Depending on the light mode – you can tailor the levels to your individual needs – it has a runtime of between four and 40 hours. It’s also available in a smaller-sized version."
Telegraph best camping chair
Titan 2 Oversized Chair
What they said...
"When the sun sets on a campsite there’s nothing better than sinking down into your chair and enjoying a sundowner but, usually, when that happens the temperature drops and even a light breeze can permeate through the fabric of a standard folding seat. Not so with the Titan 2, a luxuriously quilted and padded number that wraps around your entire body – a style sometimes known as a moon chair – and keeps you well off the ground, meaning that you stay warmer and comfortable even when night falls.
It’s made from a sturdy steel frame (it can take a weight of 28 stone!) that’s easy to unfold – I could even do this with one hand – and when you’re done, it easily pushes down and back into its carry bag. The fabric is Vango’s own trademarked offering that feels soft to touch but is durable and hardwearing – even if you spill your drink on it and need to vigorously clean it (trust me, I speak from experience).
You do of course pay for this unrivalled comfort, and not just with money. At 6.3kg, it’s considerably heavier than most standard two-person tents. Fitting it into the boot of a smaller car will see it take up a lot of space, too. But if you’re car camping for several days, it’s definitely worth the bulk. "
Independent's best air bed
Shangri-la II 15cm grande
What they said...
"The shangri-la is possibly the poshest camping mat on the market. Yes, it costs an arm and a leg, but Vango’s quality mattress delivers sleep quality worthy of its paradisiacal namesake. This mat looks rather slim but delivers a really comfortable sleep akin to a proper bed mattress, and we especially like the lovely soft integrated mattress topper. This mat is also self-inflating, which means you can let it sort itself out whilst you get on with relaxing. Look after it and it should look after you for decades. A good choice for glampers who don’t want to rough it."
Camping Awards 2024 Commended best rucksack
Denali Pro
What they said...
"The new Denali Pro is the Scottish firm’s flagship rucksack and is designed for weekend trips and longer stays in the great outdoors.
It features Vango’s Single Adjust Back System (A1), which allows you to quickly and easily adjust the pack with one hand to fit perfectly, while still wearing it. It has lots of pockets, straps and storage options to give you easy access to all your gear while you’re on the move."
Camping Awards 2024 Commended best sleeping bag
Kanto Quad
What they said...
"A cosy sleeping bag available in single, XL or double that features a special ‘quad’ design to give you more freedom to move around inside the bag.
The Kanto's brushed fabric lining has a single layer construction to prevent cold spots, plus an integrated headrest and shaped hood."
