F10 Xenon UL 2

Xenon UL 2 utilises Gothic Arch poles combined with TBS Pro to create a stable two pole tunnel design which is quick and easy to pitch and strike. Perfect for those seeking greater headroom in the inner tent area, Xenon 2 also features a large vent over the door allowing plenty of airflow, and for UK trips, preventing the rain falling into the inner when the door is open. In a low weight, small pack size, Xenon 2 is a great year round performer. More >>

the weight trade-off is worth it for me

I used the Xenon UL2 this weekend and the wind and rain really picked up during the night, at some point changing direction and hitting the tent side on. I got out to have a look and I could see the sides between the poles were billowing around quite a bit, but otherwise, the tent felt solid, flexing with the wind a little, but never in any real danger (inside, I could hardly notice). I would estimate the wind gusts to have been between 25 - 30 mph (I suspect many campers often massively overestimate the wind speed) so not massively high, but enough to give me an idea of how it would perform in a storm. It was rock solid and would easily handle higher winds imo. The TBS system definitely helps stabilise imo, I might add one to the rear for winter use. I did wonder whether wind driven rain would enter through the rear vent, but no problem at all, I think its been designed to counter that particular concern. I'm planning a cycle tour next may, travelling through Sweden and Finland and I will hopefully use the Xenon. My only slight concern is finding enough flat space at times for the footprint whilst wild camping, but the interior room will be a nice change from the tiny UL tents I usually use, so the weight trade-off is worth it for me. I also really like the off-white interior, which makes it nicer to spend time in and all the pockets and also the fact it fits in my pannier, with poles as well is a real bonus.
