With other Scottish companies, we teamed up with our ambassador Timothy Bradshaw to help send necessary provisions to those in need affected by the Russian invasion of Ukraine.
On the 15th of March, Tim and his team set off from Stirling Trailer Park, located 45 minutes from Glasgow to the Poland/Ukrainian border. Packed full of thousands of Wayfayrer meals, hundreds of sleeping bags and other goods donated by businesses and the local community. Tim and his team set off on the long drive to deliver provisions to refugees seeking solace from the war currently ongoing in Ukraine.
Upon arrival, the team was met by hundreds of people queueing at passport control, waiting to cross the safety line from Ukraine into Poland. Some had been waiting days, in freezing temperatures with little to no amenities to keep them fed, warm and safe from illness.
Tim and the team met the queue with refugees, and swiftly began unloaded the products brought over from Scotland. Aided by a group of young children no older than 13 years old who helped the team over the course of several hours to unload the supplies and carry them over the border. 48 hours later the ration and aid were in the hands of the people who need it most, yet to Tim and his team “it still felt like a drop in the ocean.”
Vango are extremely proud to support Tim and the teams #becauseican campaign which aims to encourage confidence in young people to chase after and achieve incredible things. Tim continues to promote the Ukranian aid crisis through his social platforms @timothybradshaw.
