The Independent: Vango Banshee - One of the Best Two Man Tents

It's important you have the right tent in your kit bag, for a start, you'll need to consider how many people you'll be camping with (post-lock-down), whether or not the tent is waterproof, and how much storage space you'll require.

The Independent rated the Vango Banshee 200 as one of The Best Two Man Tents

It's important you have the right tent in your kit bag, for a start, you'll need to consider how many people you'll be camping with (post-lock-down), whether or not the tent is waterproof, and how much storage space you'll require.

"If you're planning a season of active adventures post lock-down, a two man tent is a great choice - especially one that's light, compact and easy to put up and dismantle," recommends Sian Anna Lewis, author of The Girl Outdoors: The Wild Girl's Guide to Adventure, Travel and Wellbeing (£11.30, Amazon).

"Despite the name, they’re best suited for one plus your gear, but you can squeeze in two if needed (a tent with two doors is useful if you're sharing). Look for a tent that packs small enough to fit in a rucksack or panniers to take cycle touring, hiking, wild camping and travelling.

"I'd recommend picking as large a tent as you can comfortably carry (3kg is a good weight), especially if you aren’t moving on from your campsite every night, for that extra bit of living space. A tent with a porch as well as a sleeping area is handy for storing dirty boots and other kit.

Vango Banshee Pro 200

The Vango is recommended in the Duke of Edinburgh award kit list. It's good for trekking and wild camping, with a great balance of weight, pack size and living space, thanks to a roomy porch. It weighs 2.82kg, and is said to take just seven minutes to set up.
