Earth Collection - How it's made

Here at Vango we are so excited to introduce our new Earth Collection of tents, chairs, sleeping bags and backpacks. We have invested a lot of time in developing signature Vango quality products that have a positive impact on the environment. We have done this by utilising recycled single use waste plastics to create our new collection of fabrics and fills.

Take at how we have achieved this in more detail...

Step 1

The process of creating our new recycled fabrics starts with PET single use waste plastics being collected to prevent polluting waterways and oceans. These are then sorted into styles and colours, washed to remove any debris and then crushed.

Step 2

The single use waste plastic that has been crushed is then melted and cut into small pellets. The pellets are then spun to create strands that then form thread. This thread is twisted together to create a yarn.

Step 3

This thread is then woven into our Earth Collection fabrics. We have Sentinel Eco used in our tents, Vintage Excel for our backpacks and EcoStem in our chairs. Our sleeping bags within the collection use recycled materials for the fabric, lining, shell and fill.

Step 4

Finally, the plastic that would have otherwise ended up in our oceans can travel with you on many adventures for years to come.
