Celebrating International Men's Day

Meet the Men at Vango Enjoying Time in the Outdoors

Meet John

What is your favourite adventure in the great outdoors?

Walking the West Highland Way, 96 miles of beautiful Scottish scenery in five days.

What is your favourite kit to use?

Light but robust equipment that doesn’t let you down. Our Sherpa 60:70 rucksack is a great example of this. At less than 2.5Kgs and with a 600 Denier fabric it’s both lightweight and strong.

Where is the most interesting place you have been on an adventure?

The Cairngorms National Park is awesome. The UK’s largest National Park not only boasts over 50 Munros but also includes diverse wildlife like Grouse, Mountain Hare, Red Deer and Golden Eagles plus six Speyside distilleries which will provide some comfort after a long days hike or climb.

What piece of advice would you give to inspire people to enjoy the outdoors?

There are no rules to having an adventure. If a long walk along the coastline with the kids or bagging Munro’s is your thing, then make sure you find joy in what you do and be creative with it. Why not take a tent with you and make a weekend of it and get a bit closer to nature? In these difficult times don’t wait and make excuses, get out there, make goals, achieve them, and have some fun!

Meet Callum

What is your favourite adventure in the great outdoors?

Hiking and camping in the great outdoors is my favourite, especially on the Scottish hills.

What is your favourite kit to use?

Currently I use a Halo or a Tempest as my main tents as they are both very easy to pitch and are very spacious inside. Additionally, I have a range of Vango sleeping bags that I use throughout the various seasons complemented with the F10 Aero Mat.

Where is the most interesting place you have been on an adventure?

One of my most interesting adventures was exploring the Steall Waterfall near Fort William.

What piece of advice would you give to inspire people to enjoy the outdoors?

No matter the weather, go out and enjoy the great outdoors! Keep a jacket and a strong pair of boots in the back of your car as you will never know when you will need them!

Meet Kevin

What is your favourite adventure in the great outdoors?

Recently since and throughout lockdown I have started walking every weekend

about the local town area or the Greenock Cut - Loch Thom area.

What is your favourite kit to use?

As long as I have my waterproofs on and some (men’s) tights for the legs to stay warm and dry and great boots that’s about the only kit I use!

What piece of advice would you give to inspire people to enjoy the outdoors?

I do enjoy it and it does help with clearing your mind and enjoying the fresh air and

it does help to lose weight, I can feel a difference since I have started walking an would encourage others to do the same.
