Celebrating 100 years of Cub Scouts in 2016

In 2016 we will commemorate one hundred years of the Cub Scout section with local and national celebrations. To help you celebrate we've produced four resource packs full of programme ideas and activities to help you make the most of this amazing year. They're designed to support different events and opportunities throughout 2016, as well as offering a whole years worth of programme ideas that you can use in your Pack.

Cub Scouts themselves have a massive role to play in this special year. The resources will help you get them involved in the planning, and to help choose and organise the activities, whilst also working towards gaining badges and awards.

We encourage Cub Scouts and Leaders to celebrate our journey of adventure in 2016. Highlights during 2016 will include:

    • The Cubs100 Badge and related merchandise from Scout Shops.

    • Resources packed full of activity ideas for Leaders and Cub Scouts to use throughout the year.

    • Adventure camps that will encourage Cub Scouts to experience new adventurous activities.

    • Locally organised Thanks Events that recognise the millions of people who have made Cub Scouts a success over the past one hundred years. They will showcase and recognise the support of volunteers, parents and the community, and demonstrate that Cub Scouts are at the heart of Scouting and the local community today.

    • The Promise Party: a national celebration that will include a Promise renewal, to be held on 16 December 2016 at 7.16pm (19:16) to commemorate the official registration date of the Cub Scout section.

What would your young people say was the best thing they've done in Cubs? Make sure you share your #Cubs100 Promise on 16 December! Get involved: bit.ly/2haBgpG
