GLOSARY
TOTAL / USABLE WEIGHT:
We quote 2 weights in our workbooks and catalogues. The total weight includes all pegs, bags and guylines. The usable weight, for those requiring to transport their product, removes unwanted pegs, bags and guylines. The tent will remain a protective, safe haven.
Adjustable Flysheet
Attachment On our Expedition / Mountain Trekking and All Season tents we utilise an new hook arrangement which attaches the flysheet to the pegging point allowing for further tensioning of the flysheet.Aerodynamic Profile
Throughout the collection of tents we have improved the aerodynamic profile of each one, whether it be an expedition model or a large family hotel. Each tent is likely to come up against windy conditions and it is important that each one of them performs.Clear UVX windows
Placed strategically on the flysheet doorways of our Expedition / Mountain Trekking models. Useful in dark conditions they add extra light to both the porch area and living area. They won't crack or freeze, and will remain clear for many years.Colour Coded Poles & Pole Sleeves
A relatively new introduction to all our models, they all now have colour coded poles and pole sleeves for added ease of set up and lack of confusion.Continuous Pole Sleeves
Continuous pole sleeves are available on all of our tents which makes for easy set up and better performance in windy conditions.Bath Tub Ground Sheets
All our tents have tray ground sheets with at least 100 mm of wall height engineered to keep out water, beasties and wind. They will protect you further from the elements.Double Eyelets
Double eyelets at the ends of each pole sleeve / webbing are available in the event that you wish to double pole your tent for added performance and security.Double Mesh Screen
Internal Doors All our inner tents have a double door of mesh (sometimes only half, to keep weight down) and water repellent nylon. The mesh can be used to increase ventilation and light whilst the water-repellent nylon is used to increase the warmth and privacy of the inner tent.Dual Entry Doorways
Where possible we have designed dual entry doorways for ease of entry and safety. Where this has not been possible, to keep down the weight, we have made sure the single entry doorways are as large as possible.Exterior Guy Points
We don't believe in leaving anything to chance and have added exterior guy points to each available position on the flysheet to add to the strength and durability of the tent. All guy points are attached at production.Flysheet First or as one Pitching
No-one likes a wet inner tent particularly on a dark and cold night. Where possible we have designed a flysheet first or "pitching as one" tent, to enable a quick set up when the weather is inclement.Flysheet zip covers
From one end of our tent range to the other we use storm zip covers on our flysheets, located with "hook & loop", to add to the overall protection from the elements.Foot Prints
Available for most of our Expedition and All Season tents. This extra layer will protect your existing ground sheet and provide an alcove-covered area.Fully Taped Flysheet and Ground Sheet
Although all our flysheet and ground sheet fabrics are fully waterproof we don't believe a tent is complete without the seams being taped. Whether we have single or double lined stitching we "hot tape" all the seams.Generous Porches
Where possible we have made our porches as big as possible. We believe that you should be able to store all your belongs at either end of the tent, without encroaching on your sleeping area.Inverted Zips
Used on our top end Expedition models, the zips are turned upside down or inside so that the protective tape is on the inside adding further to weather protection."Line Loks"
A new accessory from Clam Cleat, this guy cleat grabs the guy line better than any other guy system. Available on our expedition tents.Low Cut Flysheets & tensioners
All our flysheets are generously cut to hug the ground, to protect the inner tent from wind blown rain or snow. This year we have also introduced an adjustment method to all our flysheets, with will also assist in locating of the poles.Mesh Pole Sleeves
On most of our Expedition and trekking tents we have used continuous mesh pole sleeves to shorten set up time and improve ventilation and airflow between the flysheet and inner.Mesh Ventilation Panels
Where possible we have introduced mesh ventilation panels in the inners of the tents, increasing the breathability of the inner tents. The majority of the ventilation panels are on the upper sides of the tent where draughts will not affect the inner space.Porch Groundsheets
Come as standard with most our "F2" poled tents. Will provide an alcove-covered area.Reflective Guy Lines and patches
On our Expedition / Mountain trekking and All Season models, we have incorporated reflective technology, which will assist in locating the tent when returnin
