GLOSARY

Acetyl rod
The rod which runs the length of the 3D control carrying system, which transfers the load of the sac to the hip belt and then on too the hips.

Bi Crescent Hip Belt
A two piece construction hip belt which fits over the hips, providing a strong support with out over tightening of the waist belt.

Chest Strap
Found on most of our Expedition, Trekking, Outdoor and Activity sacs, it is attached to the harness system. They are all movable to fit the desired height and width required to assist in a comfortable carry.

Compression Straps
Used on many of our alpine style sac, they are designed to stabilise the load and reduce the bulk of the pack you are carrying.

Daisy Chain
Situated on the front of many of our sacs, its provides numerous positions to clip or hang small items and identification tags.

Dual Density
The term used when two differing densities of foam are used to create a hip belt or shoulder harness. The softer / open cell foam providing the comfort and breathability, the stiffer / closed cell foam giving support and strength.

Expansion side pockets
A pocket which tucks away when not in use, generally on the side of the sac, which opens with the use of a zip. Often found with compression straps to keep loose fabric out of the way when not in use.

Hidden / Body Map Pocket
Situated on the front panel on some of our outdoor and recreational sacs, it is flat and long, ideal for a map, or book.

Ice axe loops
Found on all our Alpine and backpacking sacs. They allow for easy and safe carrying of ice axes or walking sticks.

Internal key attachment
A useful clip with gate, found on most our sacs, which is usually located close to the sac opening.

Floating Lid
The extra capacity that this feature gives is great for Expeditions when you are fully laden. A feature of our Denali sacs.

Occipital Cavity
A curve at the top of the frame, to allow movement of the head, when looking up. Of particular use when climbing, or walking up steep hills.

Pole pockets
On the side on our larger Expedition sacs we have added small pockets which can be used to pack tent poles or skis for travel. On the alpine style (expansion side pockets), the compression straps will help keep them in place. On the traditional style (fixed side pockets), there are slots behind the pockets.

Rain cover
An essential, especially in northern Europe. We have added them to all of our Expedition and trekking sacs, and most of our outdoor daysacs. They can be removed for washing and all have a reflective logo for identification at dust or in the dark.

Reticulated Foam
A foam used on our ventilation systems, which is more air than substance. It lets the body contact area breath, but also provides support and padding.

Shock Cord
An elastic cord used on the front of some of our sacs, for attachment of or storage of clothing, gloves or helmets, whilst not in use.

Top Accessory Loops
Sewn into the top of our Expedition and trekking sac, they are ideal for attaching crampons or other items which need to be kept safe but always available.

Two Compartments with divider
On our large sacs and travel products we have added a divided to spit your belongs. The divider has a zip of cord closure, which can be used to make each compartment larger or smaller to suit you packing needs.

Uni-Rigger base stabiliser
A curved polypropylene rod which sits behind the small or your back, transferring the load of the sac onto the hip belt and then onto the hips, removing the strain from the shoulders and back. Found in our Quick Adjust carry systems, on the Pumori sacs and Planet travel luggage.
