Quality Tent

Went wild camping in it and it was very wild! Storm all night, high winds and lots of rain other peoples tents at a campsite were blown over or collapsed this little beast kept both of us warm and dry all night with plenty of room for some 6-0'in

Testing three tents in winter

When it’s raining (or just about to) I want to pitch my tent quickly and the Mirage 200 was certainly easy and fast. Its semi-geodesic design uses three lightweight colour-coded poles including a striking ‘gothic arch’ front pole.

The inner is pitched with the flysheet and once the poles are in place, you simply peg out the guy lines. It’s worth noting it can also be used freestanding in the right weather conditions.
Vango Mirage

The Mirage 200 has a striking and practical entrance, with a long-sloping front featuring doors on either side for good ventilation and ease of access, both of which can be opened from the top. The porch also comes with its own detachable groundsheet. On one hand this means grass and mud can poke through, but on the other it makes cleaning it back home straightforward and helps improve ventilation.

The sleeping area door is part mesh, to help with ventilation further and keep out the bugs, while inside there are two corner pockets for storage. And when you want to strike camp, the two-berth tent’s oversized bag opens at the longest side, making it easy to pack away, even when wet.

Verdict: A neat, striking little tent with plenty of features that’s quick to pitch.
