My World Challenge Adventure - Liz Gahan
I was fortunate to join Rhyl High School on Expedition to Morocco in July 2016.
The team were very pleased to have received equipment from Vango, which has been very helpful.
On expedition we spent the first week working in a local school in order to improve the well.
We worked very hard all week to concrete the floor and all the walls, learning how to throw the cement at the walls in order for it to not melt in the heat. We spent our break times in one of the school classrooms and used the vango cutlery for all our meals. It was very versatile and I liked the way it all folded up into a little pouch to keep it clean. I found the day sack very useful and light, to help carry equipment that myself and team mates needed whilst both on the project and trek phase. I also used my very durable back pack when we got to camp.
Then for the second week we went on our hike, this is when the Vango kit really came in useful. I found the head torch very easy to use and useful, especially at night when it was very dark. I was glad of the sleeping mat, as it was very Stoney ground and it made it more comfortable to sleep.
